Department of Physical Education & Sports
Sciences
08 students took
admission through Sports Quota admission in Judo, Volley Ball, Foot Ball and
Cricket Game and Sport in the college for the session 2019-2020. University of
Delhi and Delhi University Sports Council(DUSC) had given responsibility to
Department of Physical Education and Sports of the college to conduct the sport
trial of Taekwondo (M &W) and
Weightlifting Sports for admission through Sports Quota in UG and PG Courses in
all Delhi University colleges.
The Department of Physical Education & Sports Sciences work in two
parts i.e. one teaching Physical Education paper in Application and Generic
Course and second to supervise and provides ample sports facilities for the
college students. The department also offered sports scholarship, inspiration
and scope for all kind of sports activities to all the students. This year 13
Sports and Games and 80 hard working and disciplined sports students
participated in different Delhi University inter College, All India inter
University, National, state, invitational and other open Sports
Competitions. This year college sports
committee and Department of Physical Education recommended & offered sports scholarship as a cash prize for
any student who would hold the position
in Delhi University inter college tournaments, participate or secure position
in inter University competition, State, Junior and Senior National Sports
Competitions. The cash prize for 1st
position was Rs 8000/- , Second position Rs 5,000/- , third position Rs 3,000/-
and Track Suit, T. Shirt, Trophy, Sports Kit etc.
This year our students Ujjwal Kumar
of B.A (Prog) 2nd Participated
in 45 Junior National Kabaddi
Championship and Abhiskek of B.A (Prog) 1st
Participated in National 10 Meter pistol
Shooting Championship.
This
year our student, Prince of B.A
(Prog) 3rd Secured first
Position (Gold Medal) in Delhi
University Inter College Weightlifting Championship.
This year five judo players (M&W) showed good
skills and dedication and performed well. Our two students, Chandraskhekhar Bhatia of B.A (Prog) 1st and Harsh Ritolia of B.A (Prog) 1st
secured Third Positions (Bronze Medals)
in Delhi University Inter College Judo Competition.
This year one of Taekwondo Players, Abhimanyu Maurya of B.Sc maths (Hons)
3rd year also Secured Third Positions
(Bronze Medals) in Delhi University inter College taekwondo Championship.
Our college Cricket team showed tremendous performance
and defied Hans Raj College, St. Stephen
College and Ram Lal College in Delhi University Inter College Cricket
tournament.
This year our college Volley Ball (Men) team
performed very well and participated in
Delhi University inter College, Youth Delhi State, Maharaja Aggrasen open
inter college Volley Ball invitational tournaments from the college.
The College Basket Ball team also performed well in
YMCA Invitational, Delhi University
Inter College Basket Ball tournaments.
Also
this Year College Foot Ball Team Players showed good skill and Played Delhi
University Inter College, Reliance open
invitational foot Ball tournaments. The
College Kabaddi team players showed team
unity, and played Delhi University inter college & invitational
tournaments.
